Flex Mobile Development Training For On3Solutions

February 2, 2012
Tags:

While desktop computing  remains alive and well, laptop computers are rapidly giving way to the plethora of mobile devices that continue to come onto the market. The reason? Today’s mobile devices pack a lot of computing power into a very small, easily transported package. They also offer more functions than even the most sophisticated laptop computers,  including that of cell phone and GPS.

It’s true that practically everyone and their uncle is writing applications for devices such as the Blackberry, iPhone and other mobile devices. Many of these are given away free over the Internet; others require a fee. Many are useful, but many more are barely worth the time it takes to download and install them.

One thing is certain: if your company plans to sell mobile apps or even give them away as part of a larger promotion, you’ll want to make certain the job is done right. As 19th-Century art critic and social thinker John Ruskin said: “There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply. The person who buys on price alone is this man’s lawful prey.”

An investment in Flex mobile development training from On3Solutions is one that can easily pay for itself in short order.

For anyone or any company in the radiology Xray field

January 22, 2012

For anyone or any company in the radiology Xray field, it is important to have protective equipment on hand. This equipment shields the operator from the radiation produced by the all the equipment. Extensive exposure to this kind of radiation might eventually cause trouble for the user in terms of health issues. Thankfully, it is possible to obtain suitable radiology Xray equipment, all of which are able to be used by just about any user and operator of the equipment. Thankfully, even the individual who is undergoing the Xray is able to wear the protective equipment, preventing them from any sort of possible side effects.

For starters, there are regular lead and lead-free aprons which cover almost the entire both. These objects are placed over the head, then tightened in the back, to secure most of the body from radiation. There are many different designs and styles of aprons, some of which are more form fitting than others. There are some more stylish options for anyone that likes.

Of course, some of the most important areas of the body are not protected completely by these aprons. Due to this, there are other areas of the body you need to cover. This includes your neck, face and eyes. For extreme cases, there are entire face shields. These shields look like smaller welding masks, without all the metal. This is for individuals who are constantly in direct contact with the equipment. For those people who don’t want to wear the large face shields it is possible to buy just protective glasses. This is good for when the individual is not always in direct contact with the Xray equipment, but it is necessary for the individual to protect their eyes.

There are always times where the user and operator of the equipment is not always in direct contact with the hardware. This often occurs when the operator is behind a desk and simply powers on the equipment while the individual receiving the scan is either in a different area of the room, or a completely different room all together. When this happens, there are apron racks and shields. These shields just block off certain areas of the room, such as where the person is sitting. If the user is sitting behind the desk. Of course, during these times it is important for the user or operator to sill wear some sort of protection, such as a partial apron, leg or dental guard, depending on where the Xray is taking place.

No matter the situation, it is very important to play it safe when it comes to X-ray equipment. This equipment has a certain amount of radiation, all of which might cause damage to the individual over extended periods of exposure. Due to this, it is vital that you and your staff has appropriate protection to prevent this from happening. Thankfully, there are a few different options for protection, ranging from nearly full body aprons to smaller racks and shields, which blocks off some areas of the room.

How to Store Your Most Valuable Photographs

January 20, 2012

Everyone’s heard horror stories about how old, classic films were badly damaged or even disintegrated to dust because they weren’t properly stored and are now lost to history. The same thing can happen to precious family photos if they’re not stored properly.

Archival photo storage requires materials and conditions that will keep the photos from deteriorating. Ideally, they should be kept in a place that’s cool, dry and dark, with a constant temperature and humidity. Photos should be kept neither in an attic nor basement, because of the damp that usually accompanies these places. Dampness can cause the photos to stick and be attacked by mold. But a space that’s too dry can cause photos to crack or curl up. Light, of course, can bleach the images.

Photographs also shouldn’t be handled overly much or exposed to oils, including the natural oils on fingertips. They should be kept from dust, chemicals and dirt. Valuable photos should be handled with cotton gloves and only handled around their edges and they should be kept on lignin free paper. Lignin is a wood based chemical that’s added to paper to make it strong enough to hold photos and print. But after a time lignin itself decays and the acids it gives off causes the paper to brown and eventually destroy the photographs.

Photos are best kept in an archival quality photo box. Photos that are fragile can be stored in plastic sleeves or envelopes made out of acid free, lignin free paper or material. Mylar is also a good material to use in lieu of acid free paper. Small photos and negatives should be stored vertically. Photos that are larger than eight by ten inches typically aren’t rigid enough to be stored vertically, so they should be stacked. This is also true of smaller photos that are fragile or torn. Boxes should be stored in metal file cabinets because even wood cabinets can outgas and mar photographs.

Most people keep their photos in photo albums, but poor quality photo albums have adhesive backs that damage the photos over time. Plastic covers can also damage photos by sticking to them. However, the owner can buy photo albums that are acid free and photo safe. The owner might also have truly special photos copied, one for archival photo storage and one to put in the photo album. Reputable photo labs can copy old photos safely. Once put in the photo album, the photographs shouldn’t be taken out because even that might impair them. If the album’s falling to pieces, the pages can be put in a Mylar or lignin free sleeve.

The owner also shouldn’t store photos in polyvinyl chloride, glassine or regular envelopes. PVCs are acidic and the glue in envelopes can attack the silver in photos. Photos should also not be written on. If information needs to go with the photo, such as when it was taken and who’s in it, the info should be written on the page the photograph is on, or on a piece of notepaper. The owner should only write on a photograph with an archival pen or marker. A soft pencil might also be used on the edge of the photo’s back.

These tips should help keep photos in good shape to be enjoyed by future generations.

Natural Beauty Products Are More Than Skin Deep

January 14, 2012

The idea of natural beauty products is not new. Women have harnessed the amazing properties of nature for looking and feeling better for centuries. It is said that the great beauty Cleopatra took baths in milk and honey and used berries for makeup. For those who are interested in natural products but are still unsure of all their benefits, here are just a few of the reasons to make the switch and allow beauty to shine through the natural way.

Natural Products Get the Green Light
Organic beauty products do not contain chemicals and toxins like many regular products do. This means that there are not as many pollutants in the water and sewage as a result of manufacturing them. Food ingredients such as bee pollen, mango and coconut are organically grown, without artificial pesticides or fertilizers. This cuts down on the carbon footprint. These products also use recyclable, eco-friendly packaging instead of harmful plastics.

You Are What Your Skin Absorbs
Skin absorbs up to 60 percent of whatever is applied to it. This means that the body has to break down these substances and filter out any toxins they contain. Products that contain a lot of chemicals are harmful. Synthetic ingredients can cause illness and decreased fertility, and the risk increases with frequent and prolonged use. Natural beauty products contain ingredients like lemon and honey, which are not harmful to the skin or the body and actually promote good health instead of causing damage.

The Wholesome Truth
Commercials and other advertisements for beauty products try to implant the idea that it is not possible to be beautiful without using their products, which are often full of artificial ingredients, tested on animals, and overpriced. The companies that make these items spend millions every year to advertise them, and the cost of this advertising is added into the price and passed on to the consumer. Natural product manufacturers do not need to use lots of flashy advertising. There are no sweeping statements or assurances that “four out of five people” use what they produce. They also do not test their products on animals, which makes them an excellent choice for cruelty-free beauty.

Natural beauty products offer the opportunity to look good and feel good naturally. They promote health, benefit the environment and don’t cause the risks of allergic reactions and skin irritations that synthetic products do. No gimmicks, just goodness. Naturally.

Basic Guide When It Comes To Mobile Marketing

January 13, 2012

You have looked all over the web for the best tips on mobile marketing, however, now that you have come across this article, you can end your search. Here, you will find nothing but the best tips and tricks to help you create a great way to spread your message.

Always be upfront about the identity of your company in your mobile marketing efforts. Few customers appreciate being contacted anonymously. Phone users will heavily discount the potential appeal of a deal or sale when it comes from an unknown source. Your company name should be the first thing you communicate in your mobile messages.

Consider starting a short code campaign to increase your mobile marketing database. Asking customers to text a code to enroll in message updates can generate significant increases in your database and also ensures that only those wishing to receive communications do so. Advertise your short code campaign through social media sites, your web site and any print marketing materials.

Social media is not a buyer’s market; it’s essentially a large, ongoing conversation that you will need to participate in as a mobile marketer. You cannot be the proverbial salesman here. Instead, you really have to be a mobile user much more than a marketer. This means you need to focus more on communication and less on being authoritative.

Keep track of what your competition is doing. Are your competitors sending out messages on their customers’ cell phones? Find out what kind of techniques they are using. If your competitors do not have a website that can be easily accessed via cell phone, this could be your chance to steal some of their customers.

Make sure your ad is compatible with every type of handset. To ensure you don’t lose your professional reputation, you must make sure that users of all types of mobile phone can interact with your ad campaign. If you distribute a mobile ad that does not display on certain platforms, brings up error messages or even worse crashes the user’s cell phone, you are unlikely to attract any potential buyers to your company.

Text based ads are more effective on mobile platforms than ads using graphics. Download speeds on mobile devices are often much slower than on computers, and downloading large amounts of data can also be costly. Using large graphics files will not only annoy your target audience, the ad might even take too long to download for them to be able to view it.

Your thinking should change completely for mobile marketing if you hope to be successful, because you’re not really dealing with a one-on-one customer-client relationship anymore. You’re now dealing with people out in public browsing their mobile devices. This means you need to train your brain to think like a busy person and what would grab their attention.

Be sure to send text messages. People usually have a ringer that will go off whenever they receive a text. They also tend to check it right away. Just make sure to send small files such as photos of a new product that you have available, thus allowing the customer the option of receiving texts or not.

Perform usability testing for your campaign. Enlist your friends, family and co-workers to help you by receiving messages and responding to them. Ask for feedback on ease of use and enjoyment. They should like what they see on the display and report that it was clear and easy to follow.

Be a leader in mobile marketing, not a follower. Mobile marketing is still the wild, wild west when it comes to innovation and creativity. There are a lot of options available on the market to consider, but don’t only go with what’s out there. Look at your audience and strategize on new ways to reach them via mobile. You may come up with a successful mobile messaging alternative at a fraction of the price of a paid service!

If you operate an on-location business like a restaurant, small store, or any other live location, make sure that you’re emphasizing your location in your mobile marketing. Businesses like these have a much larger niche market, and someone just swinging by the area for a while might love to stop in and grab a bite to eat.

Steer clear of texting abbreviations. When you shorten your messages using chat speak, you make yourself and your business seem less professional and credible. Take the time to spell everything out to make sure your messages are clearly understood, and that you come across in a professional and polite manner.

Be sure to alert your subscribers of any fees, even those that you aren’t charging. If there are standard rates applied to their cell phone bill from the provider because of your messages or even if you are charging a small fee for the service you are providing, you should give that information to your subscribers immediately to ensure there are no legal situations later.

Research ways to offer one-touch purchasing options for your products and services. Your mobile marketing messages should provide an option to store payment information that can be easily recalled and presented at the touch of a button, which will ultimately increase sales and create a reputation for ease of use and efficiency.

Offer discounts or other special offers to customers using geolocation applications to check in at your business. While some applications show check-ins automatically, users can set individual preferences. By offering incentives to check in, your customers are more likely to do so, resulting in increased word of mouth advertising for your business.

Do not transfer one of the huge failings of social media to your mobile marketing, by sending out random text and status updates. The evidence clearly shows that most people despise random updates to their mobile devices, and it is a sure way to ruin something that you are working hard to build.

To summarize, your search has ended for the best advice on how to properly run a mobile marketing operation for your company. In the best case, the expert advice provided here, will not only excite you about this type of marketing, but also prepare you for how to best use it.

Basic Guide On How Mobile Marketing Works

January 1, 2012

Mobile marketing is the new wave of marketing that allows businesses to access their potential consumers at almost any point in their day. Due to the accessibility allowed to consumers by mobile devices of all kinds, businesses can now capitalize on the digital age in a more direct way then ever before.

One of the key factors to successful mobile marketing advertising and messaging is to keep your messages and ads short, to the point, and urgent. The devices are possibly smaller, so you have less room to work with in composing your ad. So make them short and clear so that you can get your message across quickly and fully understood.

One great way to see how you can blend mobile marketing with social media is to pay attention to other people who are doing the same thing. This will allow you to see how things are done correctly. You won’t want to copy their formula verbatim, but it will help to emulate their style a bit.

Push messaging through mobile marketing efforts like SMS messages can be incredibly powerful. Consider pushing discount codes or coupons to customers who have opted in order to receive updates from your business. This increases the value of your mobile marketing and increases the likelihood customers will find value in all the information you provide.

Here is another tip for those who wish to use qr codes for mobile marketing. When generating qr codes, be sure to use a free service. By choosing a free service, you can advertise without spending a dime to promote. Make sure the service has tracking so you can know who scans your codes.

Use high quality short codes in your mobile marketing efforts! This will ensure that you create your own brand of the short code you use, and you won’t be sharing with another company that could easily utilize the system abusively, causing you issues in the long run. You will encounter a higher price, but that is the price of doing mobile marketing well.

Align your mobile marketing campaign with the holidays and big events. Use the holidays to make your marketing campaign sparkle. Use the sporting event to your advantage. Make a special code for everyone to text for a chance to win. Using these events will help to make your business a success.

If you are deciding to go down a path of mobile marketing for your company, you must make sure that it will work for you. It will work for most businesses as long as you have something to pitch at your customers through the text or call, this way the person will have a reason to come in and buy from you.

When creating advertising for the mobile web, you must ensure that the content is compatible with a majority of different mobile browsers. This is important to consider because you do not want to inadvertently restrict customers from being able to view your content. Stick with the major phone manufacturers and double check to see if there are any restrictions that the service providers may have in place.

To give your text messages a boost, use multi-media messaging! These messages can use additional features like photos or sound to give your message a bigger impact. These days, most phones can accept multi-media messages, and it’s smart to take full advantage of that. Pictures and music are much harder to ignore than a simple text.

Do not limit your mobile marketing to a mobile website. These websites must remain relatively small and do not allow you to do much. Take advantage of the efforts social networks do to provide people with apps: send your customers a lin to your Facebook page or to your Twitter feed.

When you are sending a text, it is important to get right to the point. Tell your customer why you are messaging, what kind of deal you are offering, how it will help them out, and also how to take advantage of the deal. This will leave your customers a lot happier because you are not just wasting their time.

Avoid using abbreviations and caps. Most people will be annoyed by this and dismiss your message right away. You can use capitals to write the name of your brand or to emphasis a good call to action, but you should keep your message as short and simple as you can.

Remember when mobile marketing that not every mobile device is the same and thus the content you develop needs to cater to the general field and not anything overtly specific. For instance: Some people have slower connections than others, while others have smaller screen sizes. Be encompassing and not specific.

Be loyal to your loyal customers don’t ignore them. It is easy for a marketer to get caught up in new customer acquisition to forget their loyal die hard clients. There are ways to control this one of easy ways is to go thought your client list and send out a random reward.

Text messages can be a great way to notify customers of special limited time discounts, and new products. However, you must make sure that you have the customer’s permission to send them text messages. Contrary to e-mail, some of your customers will have to pay to receive them. In these cases, if the text messages were sent without their permission, you can be sure that they will not be buying anything from you. You should also have a way for them to easily opt of out receiving more text messages from you.

Brief and non-business related links and text messages are allowable in network marketing, but make sure you are sending out relevant content that your subscribers would enjoy or find helpful. This should only be done occasionally because you do not want to appear to be a spammy sender and have customers unsubscribe.

Now that you have a full understanding about mobile marketing and how it can benefit your business, you can take the first steps toward increasing your visibility. The advice within this article can be a stepping stone to the world of mobile marketing and increased profit potential for your business.

How To Use Mobile Marketing To Help Your Business

January 1, 2012

Use mobile marketing to show your customers that you know what they are interested in and that you care about catering to them. This type of marketing will let you do just that. For more great tips like this, read the following article and you will more than benefit.

Integrate your geo-location mobile marketing with your social media presence to give your customers a full picture of your business. By using business pages on social media sites, you can provide more information such as hours of operation or upcoming sales to customers checking in or following your page. With the continuing growth of social media, integrating this platform with your mobile marketing campaign can reap significant benefits.

Shop around for different companies. Mobile marketing companies all differ in their styles and methods. Finding the one that is best for your business and your customers can be as simple as visiting their websites. Never settle for the first one you find without checking out what the other companies may have to offer.

Mobile phones have become very personal. People can download what apps they want, customize their phone to look how they like it, and many have all contacts and their calendar saved in their phone. You want to make your mobile marketing strategy hit people on a personal level. The more relevant your information is to your customers, they more personal it will feel.

If you do implement SMS and text messaging, make sure that you do not spam your customers. If you send out too many irrelevant and unimportant messages to your customers, you risk your number being blocked. Not only will you not reach your customers, your business will get a bad reputation.

Use dedicated short code. The can be pricey, but they insure that you keep your brand intact. Avoid shared short codes if you are a larger company. Not only because you want people to recognize your own code, but there may be some legal consequences if the other company sharing the same code abuses the system.

The customers who are receiving your mobile marketing do not want to have flashy or unclear messages. They want you to get to the point and let them know why you are messaging them. Do not make them click an image to see the message, get to the point and tell them what the benefits of your message are immediately.

Consider adding advertising to your website that specifically built for the mobile environment. Your traditional web banners are not going to cut it on a mobile device. In fact, if you have optimized your site for a mobile experience, those banners are no longer even visible. There are a lot of great mobile advertising platforms out in the market, including AdMob, iAd and MobClix. Investigate them and choose the right one for you.

Test your campaign before you start sending out your messages. Send the messages you want to use to your family, friends and employees. You will have to make sure the messages display well on most types of devices: perhaps some changes will be needed at this point. Ask people for their opinions on the content of the messages.

If you publish podcasts, make sure that they are available to mobile device listeners. There are a couple of different sites that can enable your podcasts for mobile listening. This can increase your listening audience and further market your valuable products or services. There are free options available for this.

Hire a consultant. Not everyone is technologically savvy, so if you are not so inclined, it may be best for you to hire someone to do your dirty work for you. You should look heavily into this person’s background to make sure they are respectful and professional, especially if they will be a permanent member of your team.

Build exclusivity and status into your mobile marketing. Mobile devices themselves have become aspirational. Phones, tablets and even some mobile apps have become symbols of status. Follow suit with your mobile marketing by offering exclusive content to your mobile readers or downloads only available to those who have subscribed for mobile messaging.

Do not aim for an elaborate marketing strategy if you use mobile marketing. People will want to know why you are sending them a message and which advantages they could have access to. Do not simply send a picture and ask people to go to a link to learn more.

Use mobile marketing as a means of communication not a means for profit. Your business may be very important to you, but you need to remember that customers do not take well to being treated like money bags. Using your mobile campaign to actually talk to them will increase your sales more than promotions.

Don’t forget branding. In your rush to start mobile marketing, you might forget that your mobile marketing efforts need to be integrated into your larger marketing efforts and your brand. Expanding your brand recognition will help bring you more customers, so don’t forget about your brand when communicating with prospective customers via cellphone.

Be prompt with your messages. This goes along perfectly with being relevant. You can send out an email about something happening, but it doesn’t always translate when you need to send a text message. Don’t be too early or too late with your messages. For example, you can announce a sale minutes before the store opens, versus days.

One of the best ways to be a successful mobile marketer is simply to be a successful social net-worker. Getting people to follow your blog or social site links to a destination site is much more effective than attempting to send out ads and emails to various people who aren’t your customers yet.

To summarize, mobile marketing provides way too many positive features to not, at least, give it a try, if you haven’t already. Either way, consider the advice given here and use it to modernize or shape up your current marketing procedures. Hopefully, this helps to clear up any questions that you may have.
